Mission

The soils program conducts applied research and delivers educational material that focuses on soil and crop management for the purpose of enhancing efficiency, profitability, and resource stewardship for Midwest farmers.

Program Objectives

The primary objective of the soils program at the Southern Research and Outreach Center is to conduct applied soil and crop management research that results in improved crop productivity, farm profitability, and environmental quality for Midwest farmers. A secondary objective is to quickly disseminate the information through a wide variety of venues including news releases, annual reports, web-based media, agricultural print and broadcast media, extension and short course talks, field days, and peer-reviewed publications.
