Southern School of Agriculture (1953-1973)
The Southern School of Agriculture, a high school with grades 9 through 12, specialized in agriculture, business, and homemaking, operated six months each in residence and in work experience. The talented and dedicated faculty, staff and nearly 1000 students continue to have a lasting impact in their communities.
University of Minnesota, Waseca (1971-1992)
The University of Minnesota Waseca, a two-year college, provided a unique blend of technical training and courses in arts and sciences. Students were prepared for career opportunities or for college transfer options in agriculture and services to rural areas. This nationally recognized college touched the lives of nearly 20,000 students. Their achievements attest to the commitment of the student-oriented faculty and staff of UMW.

Recognize Outstanding Ag Leaders
Nominations are being requested for individuals deserving of the MN Ag Award or the Personal Service Award. List the name of nominee, address, and phone number, then describe achievements in the agricultural industry, type of business nominee is involved with, and support of the industry in general. Indicate why you feel this person is deserving of the award.
The Personal Service Award is presented to a SSA/UMW alumnus who has served the college and/or alumni in an exemplary manner. Nominations for this award will be accepted from anyone who had an interest in the college or is an alumnus of the college.
The MN Ag Award is presented to a SSA/UMW alumnus or non-alumnus who has served the agricultural industry to its fullest. Nominations for this award will be accepted from anyone with knowledge of an individual worthy of this award.

The Alumni Association works to support agricultural education, career opportunities, personal growth and development for fellow alumni members and their communities. The Association provides scholarships, networking opportunities, and provides this newsletter to keep the members informed about the activities of the Association.
