Sam Baidoo
He moved to Canada as a graduate student in 1982. Sam received his M.Sc. (Animal Nutrition) in 1984 and Ph.D. (Animal Nutrition) in 1989 from the University of Alberta followed by a year of post-doctoral fellowship. Dr. Baidoo was an instructor and department head of Agricultural Sciences and a member of the Agricultural Management Committee of Lakeland College, Vermilion, Alberta from 1991 to 1994. He was recognized with the Animal Science Teaching Award by the students and faculty of Lakeland College in 1992. In 1994, Sam joined the Department of Animal Science, University of Manitoba as assistant professor in Swine Nutrition and Management. Since joining the University of Manitoba, Dr. Baidoo has supervised the programs of 6 M.Sc., 2 Ph.D. students and 4 postdoctoral fellows. He is author and co-author of over 70 publications including journal articles, extension fact sheets, conference and symposia proceeding. Currently, Sam is an assistant professor in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Minnesota. His research interests are in the evaluation of feeding strategies to reduce manure volume and odor; alternative nutrient sources for pigs; and nutritional modulation on sow performance, reproductive efficiency and longevity. |
