Employment opportunity: Farm Animal Attendant

SROC is hiring a farm animal attendant to work in the calf research program, work with calves including feeding and record keeping. Some weekend & holiday work is required. This is a fulltime position with benefits and pension.

Essential Qualifications Employee Must Have: 

  1. High school graduation and 3 years of related animal care experience or combination of related academic coursework and related work experience to total 3 years.  
  2. Position may require the ability to: walk or stand for majority of day; bend, climb, kneel; carry, lift, push and pull 75lbs or more. 
  3. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and shift work. Work in all animal environments such as noise, dust, odors, indoors and outdoors.
  4. Must be able to operate farm equipment such as tractor and loader, skid loader, truck & 5th wheel trailer and related equipment such as bedding chopper, manure spreaders, tillage, corn planters, grain drills, seeders, haybines, field forage choppers, hay balers, hay loading and handling equipment, sprayers, etc.
