The SROC hosts opportunities, field tours, and special events to share the newest research findings from the University of Minnesota and their potential impact.
Winter Crop Days
University researchers, Extension specialists, and other invited experts present research-based data and information related to profitable, efficient, and environmentally sustainable crop production strategies and systems to enhance the value of agriculture and the rural landscape in today’s ever-changing global climate. Certified Crop Advisers may be eligible to earn continuing education units (CEUs) in nutrient, soil and water, pest and crop management. Intended audience: producers, farm managers, agribusiness professionals, lenders, educators, government agency personnel, and others interested in agricultural production and rural issues.
Horticulture Day is typically held the first Friday in March at the Southern Research and Outreach Center.
Intended audience: beginning or seasoned gardeners, landscaping enthusiasts, Master Gardeners, organic growers, fruit and vegetable producers, or anyone interested in learning more about the natural, outdoor environment.
Agronomy Field Tour
The Agronomy Field Tour is typically held in June at the Southern Research and Outreach Center in Waseca. The 2021 Agronomy Field tour will be a virtual program via Zoom on Tuesday, June 22. Pre-registration is required. The program will begin at 10 AM and conclude at noon.
Intended audience: producers, farm managers, agribusiness professionals, lenders, educators, government agency personnel, and others interested in agricultural production and the environment.
